Convention in Indianapolis (7/03)
This was the International Convention in
Indianapolis. A couple of us from CSULB represented our club. This
was a special Convention as it also included joint sessions with
members of Key Club International.

Feed
The Homeless (9/03)
Feeding the homeless is one
of our continuing service projects. Every week we go to the Long Beach
Rescue Mission to help setup, serve and clean. This is one of our
popular projects.

events where we support this great event by volunteering in directing
traffic and parking.

Division ALS Walk (10/03)
We got together with the
Metro Division in support of the fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig's
Disease). The Division raised over $900

Beach Marathon (10/03)
This is an annual event we
take part in. Many Circle K members participated in traffic control and
distributing water to the participants.

Window Painting (10/03)
This is one of our
continuous projects. Each month we paint windows for a disabled arts
center. For the month of October we had a Halloween theme.

member installation. One of our members attended in support of one of
our fellow Metro clubs.

Crazy
Kompetition for Infants (10/03)
This was a crazy event where we competed
against 20 other schools from Southern California. We won 2nd place and
best of all over $1000 was raised for Pediatric Trauma.

Boys
and Girls Club Halloween Carnival (10/03)
This was a gathering with Golden West
College Circle K. We helped the Boys and Girls club put together a
carnival for kids 12 and under. Some of us were in charge of different
games.

Kiwanis Chili Cook Off (11/03)
This was a fun gathering with our sponsoring
Kiwanis Club. Circle K had its team to make some good Chili! In the end
we got 2nd place! We also competed in Ping Pong and Putting
tournaments.

Member Installation and 45th Anniversary Night (11/03)
This was a very special night for our club.
Not only did we install 27 new members but did it on our clubs 45th
anniversary. The night also saw the debut of the new CSULB Circle K
member pin.

UCSD
CKI Masquerade Ball (11/03)
Circle K members traveled down to San Diego
for UCSD's annual Masquerade Ball. This is a charity dance for Pediatric
Trauma. Members enjoyed dancing, Karaoke and the beautiful view of
downtown San Diego from a boat in the middle of the night.

Kiwanis
Takeover (11/03)
We took over our Long Beach Kiwanis Club
meetings. We got to actually present the program as well as fine
Kiwanians for trips and confessions. IN the end we raised $193 for the
club.

Fall
Training Conference (11/03)
7 CSULB CKI members traveled up north to
Sonora for a fun weekend with Circle K clubs from the
California-Nevada-Hawaii district. Activities included workshops, skits,
new member installation and much more!

Bowling
for Pediatric Trauma (11/03)
This is a bi-annual event where we bowl for
Pediatric Trauma. Schools from UCLA, USC, LBCC, Whittier, CSUF as well
as Wilson Key Club joined us for a fun night. We raised $450 for
Pediatric Trauma!

and Girls Club Thanksgiving Dinner
Oh Thanksgiving Eve we once again helped the
Boys and Girls club of Long Beach with their annual event. We helped
serve food and clean up.

We feed the homeless every week, but this
was a special day as we it was on Thanksgiving day. We were in charge of
serving dessert (Pumpkin Pie)

potluck dinner. We served fried chicken, pizza, soda, chips and dessert.

Float Decorating (GO WEST!) (12/03)
Every year we rose float decorate. A group
of us drove to Pasadena and decorated many floats. We also joined many
Circle K clubs from southern California.

Elves Project (1/04)
This was a very touching project. Together
with VSA we delivered clothes and Toys to a family who lost their home
from the San Diego fires.

CKI Basketball Tournament (2/04)
We participated in UCI's basketball
tournament for literacy. Team "Dirtbags" played well and had a
great time getting to know others.

Large Scale Service Project (2/04)
This is an annual District event. Southern
California Circle K clubs got together to have a children's fair. This
was a 2 day event over Valentine's Day weekend.
